Project Overview

The "Lighting of a Lamp" project was developed for the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) in Bangalore, India, as part of their inauguration ceremony. This project aimed to create an immersive and interactive experience for attendees by allowing them to light a Diya lamp virtually using their mobile phones. The experience was displayed on six 86" LED screens, with each screen replicating a large ancient wooden rack of Diya lamps, making the virtual experience feel authentic and connected to India’s cultural heritage.

Attendees could experience the lighting of a Diya in real-time, featuring realistic Diya flame VFX. Participants had the option to subscribe to newsletters or purchase museum memberships. The platform also captured real-time visitor data, allowing the museum to generate valuable insights about attendee engagement.

Initially intended for the inauguration, the project has since become a permanent exhibit at the museum, continuing to provide an immersive experience for visitors.

The Objective

The client aimed to create an exciting virtual experience for the inauguration event. Attendees could easily engage using their mobile phones. Plus, the project would capture real-time visitor data, helping the museum build a valuable visitor database for future marketing and engagement. By embracing the "BYOD" (Bring Your Own Device) approach, everyone could participate fully with their personal devices, making the event even more interactive and enjoyable.

The Challenge

The museum faced the challenge of creating an immersive and interactive experience during its inauguration ceremony, where attendees could feel a part of the event by lighting a virtual Diya lamp. Additionally, gathering and managing the data of all attendees was a key requirement to help the museum with future visitor engagement.

Our Solution

ViitorCloud delivered a comprehensive solution by developing both a lightweight mobile application and a Windows app to showcase a Diya rack on a large 92" LED screen. Key elements of the solution included:

  • Virtual Diya Replica: We created virtual representations of ancient wooden Diya racks to maintain the cultural authenticity of the museum’s theme.

  • Real-time Diya Lighting: Our unique flame animations added a stunning wow factor to the experience, immersing attendees in the ceremony and enhancing their connection to the event.

  • Data Capture: We integrated a dashboard to generate reports on visitor engagement and attendance, capturing real-time data on those who participated in lighting the lamps.

  • Interactive Features: Visitors could easily subscribe to newsletters or purchase memberships through the application, boosting engagement and expanding the museum's outreach.
