Project Overview

ViitorCloud delivered museum collection software for the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) in Bangalore, converting over 9,000 artifacts — art portraits, models, and more — into digital formats and building a desktop application to display them. Combining web development, UI/UX design, and DevOps services, the application lets users explore the entire collection, view artifacts full-screen, zoom in for a closer look, and add pieces to a personal collection by receiving details via email.

The Challenge

The biggest challenge was showcasing more than 9,000 artifacts under one digital platform. The solution had to store and display that volume efficiently and let users interact with the artifacts in a meaningful way — not just scroll a flat gallery, but examine, select, and take pieces with them. Handling large-scale data while keeping the experience smooth and responsive was the core requirement.

The Solution

ViitorCloud built a desktop application using Electron JS with HTML and CSS on the front end and Node.js on the backend, with each feature aimed at exploration and detail.

  • Artifact display: All 9,000+ artifacts were digitized and integrated into the application, so users can browse the full collection easily.

  • Full-screen view and zoom: Users can open artifacts full-screen and zoom in for a closer, detailed look.

  • Email integration: We integrated AWS SES so users receive details about selected artifacts directly in their inbox.

The honest difficulty. The demanding part was scale with responsiveness. Bringing 9,000+ digitized artifacts into a single desktop application, and still letting users zoom into fine detail and page through the collection without lag, means the data handling has to be efficient at every step. Getting that large collection to feel light and immediate — while layering in full-screen viewing, zoom, and email delivery — is what made the archive genuinely explorable rather than just complete.

Value Proposition

What the MAP Collection Experience gives the museum and its audience:

  • Comprehensive access: Users can view and navigate all artifacts in one place, making MAP's extensive collection far more accessible.

  • Enhanced interaction: Zoom and full-screen let users examine artifacts in detail, enriching the experience.

  • Streamlined email delivery: AWS SES integration lets users manage their selections and receive detailed information by email.

The Results

What the implementation delivered:

  • Comprehensive access: All artifacts are viewable and navigable in one place, enhancing the accessibility of MAP's collection.

  • Enhanced user interaction: Zoom and full-screen functionality let users examine artifacts closely.

  • Streamlined email integration: AWS SES lets users manage selections and receive details efficiently by email.

Conclusion

The MAP Collection Experience transformed a vast collection of physical artifacts into an engaging digital platform. By combining efficient data handling, interactive features, and email integration, ViitorCloud built museum collection software that makes an incredible collection accessible to a far broader audience.
