ViitorCloud built the Calopad physical therapy app, a healthcare platform that pairs personalized exercise recommendations with community support, educational content, and in-app shopping to help users manage remote physical therapy.

The Challenge

Calopad sets out to help people relieve body pain without being tied to in-person clinic visits. The idea was a single healthcare app where a user could describe their pain areas, receive exercise therapies tailored to them, read educational content, talk with health experts, and buy Calopad products, all in one place. The product's vision was clear; the engineering to make it hold together was the hard part.

Several pieces had to work together for the app to deliver real physiotherapy management. Product content and the store needed to come from Shopify, with complex tag filtering to surface the right items. A community forum had to support genuine interaction between users and health experts, not just a comment box. Push notifications needed to behave correctly on both Android and iOS. And the team wanted ChatGPT in the loop for more personalized interactions, which carried its own integration hurdles.

Without these working as one experience, Calopad would be a collection of features rather than a tool people trust for remote physical therapy and telehealth physical therapy. The stakes were retention: users managing ongoing pain stay only if the app is genuinely useful day to day.

The Solution

ViitorCloud built the platform with React and Node.js, taking a user-centric approach and making a few deliberate decisions rather than assembling generic parts.

• A cross-platform frontend with React and Ionic: We used React with Ionic, so one codebase delivers a consistent, easy-to-navigate interface across devices, which matters for a daily-use health app.

• Shopify integration for content and store: We integrated Shopify so users can browse healthcare blogs and buy Calopad products in the app, and we handled the complex tag filtering needed to show the right content and items.

• A community forum plus real-time chat: We built an interactive forum where users connect with health experts and each other and added the Chhatra chat feature for real-time support and communication.

• Reliable push notifications on Android and iOS: We implemented timely reminders and updates across both platforms to keep users engaged with their therapy routine.

The honest difficulty. The Shopify integration was harder than a standard store hookup because the product and blog content depended on complex tag filtering to surface the right items to the right users. Push notifications across both Android and iOS added their own platform-specific behavior to get right. Much of the engineering time went into making these integrations behave consistently, because an app that nags at the wrong time or shows the wrong products loses the trust a pain-management tool depends on.
