The G20 Khajuraho Holographic Experience was an immersive showcase of cutting-edge technology applied to cultural heritage. Presented at the First G20 Culture Working Group meet in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh (February 22–25, 2023), the project used holographic technology to highlight the repatriation of artifacts through global cooperation. It narrated the story of eight repatriated artifacts, including the famous Parrot Lady of Khajuraho, which came to life on the holo stage to share their history and journey — a unique way for audiences to connect with India's heritage.
Create an interactive holographic experience on the theme of artifact repatriation via global cooperation. Through the story of eight artifacts, the project aimed to offer an engaging, educational experience that highlighted preserving cultural heritage and promoting cultural exchange.
The primary challenge was building a narrative that conveyed the story of artifact repatriation in an engaging, meaningful way. The National Museum Institute (NMI) needed a solution that could capture visitors' attention while educating them on the importance of global cooperation in heritage preservation.
ViitorCloud built a fully immersive holographic experience that brought historical artifacts to life through: 3D animation with voice-over, where each artifact's story was visually rendered and narrated; story-driven content that transported users into India's cultural significance; an innovative holographic display; and interactive storytelling that let visitors feel part of the artifacts' journey.
The honest difficulty. The hard part was blending rigorous historical accuracy with genuinely engaging 3D animation and storytelling — an artifact's repatriation story had to be both truthful and emotionally compelling on a holo stage. Getting that balance is what made the experience resonate with a diverse G20 audience.
The National Museum Institute partnered with ViitorCloud for our expertise in blending technology with storytelling. Our ability to build an engaging holographic experience combining history, culture, and cutting-edge technology ensured the project resonated and successfully conveyed the theme of repatriation.
The holographic experience engaged audiences at the G20 meet and highlighted the importance of cultural repatriation. The project raised awareness of the global effort to preserve and repatriate artifacts, engaged audiences through immersive interactive storytelling, and promoted cultural exchange and dialogue among nations.
The G20 Khajuraho Holographic Experience was a landmark project combining technology and culture to showcase India's heritage and the importance of artifact repatriation. ViitorCloud's use of 3D animation, storytelling, and holographic technology made history accessible, immersive, and engaging for a global audience.
If you have a story — heritage, brand, or product — that deserves more than a slideshow, a holographic experience with 3D animation and storytelling can deliver it. Talk to the ViitorCloud team or explore our immersive and holographic technology capabilities.
