Project Overview

ViitorCloud built centralized resource management software that gives managers and employees a clear view of project hours, tasks, and resource allocation in one project tracking platform. The build combined web development, UI/UX design, and technology consulting on a Laravel core with Microsoft Single Sign-On.

The Challenge: Project Data Scattered Across Records

The client ran projects across several teams but had no single place to see where time and people were going. Project hours, tasks, and resource allocation lived in scattered records, so managers could not get a clear view of progress and employees had no simple way to log their own contributions. Staffing and priority decisions were being made without the numbers to back them.

The client wanted a centralized project tracking software platform that two audiences could use at once: managers who needed to monitor project hours across the organization, and employees who needed to record their individual work. The portal also had to fit existing systems, logging in through Microsoft Single Sign-On rather than yet another password.

The harder part was making the data live. Static reports go stale. The client needed in-column calculations that updated as hours were entered, inside tables detailed enough to drill into without becoming slow or unreadable.

The Solution: A Centralized Portal with Live Calculations

ViitorCloud delivered the resource management tool around a few deliberate engineering choices.

• Microsoft SSO for secure, familiar access: We integrated Single Sign-On so staff log in with existing Microsoft credentials, removing a separate account and keeping access controlled.

• Custom expand and collapse tables: Off-the-shelf grids could not handle the drill-down the client needed, so we built interactive tables in JavaScript that let managers and employees expand or collapse rows to move between summary and detail.

• Real-time in-column calculations: Totals and metrics recompute as project hours are entered, giving live insight into time and resource allocation instead of overnight report runs.

• Separate manager and employee views: Each role sees the right slice — managers monitor hours across projects, employees track their own contributions — from the same centralized portal.

• Laravel back end with PowerApps and API integration: A Laravel core plus PowerApps and a time-safe API kept data processing consistent and connected to the client's wider Microsoft toolset.

The honest difficulty. The dynamic, expandable table was the real engineering work. Building it in custom JavaScript while running in-column calculations on every change risked slowing the page down as data grew. Most of the effort went into keeping those live calculations fast and the table responsive, so detail never came at the cost of performance. The initial Microsoft SSO integration also needed careful handling to get the login flow right.
